Bluegrass Community Hospital Names 2025 Mercy Award Winner
May 28, 2025

VERSAILLES, KY (May 28, 2025) – Bluegrass Community Hospital is proud to announce Robert (Rob) Stromberg as its 2025 Mercy Award winner. A 20-year employee and current Cardiopulmonary Director, Cardiovascular Service Line Director, Safety Officer, Disaster Preparedness Coordinator, and frontline respiratory therapist, Stromberg exemplifies the highest standards of compassion, service, and dedication to both his patients and his community.
The Mercy Award is Lifepoint Health’s highest honor and is presented annually to one individual at each of Lifepoint’s facilities who demonstrates a selfless commitment to improving the lives of others. Named after the late Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and CEO, the award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to serve the hospital’s mission, people and communities.
“Rob is the definition of servant leadership,” said Cliff Wilson, Market President of Lifepoint Central Kentucky. “He steps up in every capacity—often behind the scenes—always with humility, grace and a sense of humor. Whether it’s helping a fellow team member, mentoring young men in our community or juggling his many leadership roles, Rob embodies what it means to live Lifepoint’s values every day.”
Inside the hospital, Rob is known as the “go-to guy” and is routinely called on for support across departments. His quiet leadership and willingness to step in wherever needed have made him a pillar of the hospital team. Outside of his many professional roles, Rob gives back to the community through weekly mentorship and counseling of men facing mental health challenges, substance abuse or trauma. His peers describe him as someone who never asks for recognition, always has a kind word, and leads with compassion and positivity.
Bluegrass Community Hospital extends its sincere congratulations to Rob Stromberg on receiving this distinguished honor. As the facility’s 2025 Mercy Award recipient, he will now advance for consideration for Lifepoint Health’s nationwide 2025 Mercy Award, which will be announced later this year.
